    International Horticulture Market Terminal in Gannaur, Sonipat

Haryana government has started the construction and planning work of a Horticulture market in Gannaur, Sonipat which is known as International Horticulture Market Terminal of IHMT. The project is being developed keeping in mind the potential of Haryana as a horticulture destination of India. The project is spread on around 493 acres and will require an investment of 1250 crore rupees. The IHMT will be developed through Private-Public-partnership model on the basis of expertise of France in horticulture marketing. When fully operational the market will do a business of around 850 crore rupees annually. It will have 10 percent fruits and vegetables imported and rest of 90 percent will be domestic production.

The IHMT is soon going to be partially operational and initially it will be a loading and unloading facility. The first phase of IHMT will be of 10 years out of which first two years will be devoted to land and infrastructural development. The project will support local farmers as well as the farmers all around the country.

This project has already created waves in the real estate circles of Sonipat and is soon bound to affect the real estate scenario of the area. The project will boost the business opportunities in Sonipat hence providing more jobs in Sonipat which means more and more people migrating to Sonipat from the other areas. This will give rise to real estate demands in Sonipat bring new residential projects in the area. For these reasons the real estate prices in the area will rise hence it is the correct time to invest in property in Sonipat as huge returns are bound to come from investments done now in Sonipat.
